To Brody Hodge

Are you tired of the evil associated with the philosophies of all the world’s religions? After all, an all-powerful deity that allows evil to exist must itself be at least part evil.
Do you feel conflicted about the fact that the Old Testament appears to offer no basis for establishing moral standards? If you can find any, let me know. If we humans are not constituted of chemicals, and we are not animals, what are we made of, and what are we? Or is it just Christians that are so unique?
Are you tired of the fact that the Bible contains little that is scientifically valid? Are you bothered that if you want to verify anything that is real, the Bible is the last book you would consult?
The weekend comes at the end of the working week, that’s why it’s called the weekend. I’m surprised that an intelligent (presumably) person like yourself hasn’t realised that. Where I work, Monday is the first day of the working week, and why would an all-powerful deity feel the need to rest anyway?
Atheism makes perfect sense in my worldview. There is not one scintilla of a trace that any deities now or ever have ever existed. I don’t say there are no gods, angels or demons (Hobbits, Leprachauns or fairies), I just maintain that it’s going to take much more than myths and fantasy stories to convince me otherwise. By claiming to know what your deity wants, doesn’t that rather make you the one aspiring to godhood?
I don’t proselytise. But that’s not to say I won’t defend my position against the onslaught of unreasoned hatred that is spouted by fundamentalist religionists like yourself.
I don’t need to find evidence that contradicts the Bible’s account of creation. I just need to read it, think about as a reasonably intelligent adult, and come to the conclusion that it’s sheer nonsense.
Why would a Christian care to live one moment longer in a material universe when they think they know there is something far better waiting for them elsewhere? Is it because they’re secretly afraid that they’re wrong? It doesn’t bother me that I wasn’t around 467 trillion years ago, so why should I care about not being around 467 trillion years in the future?
Death is the end of life. If that scares you, I sympathise. As an atheist, I’ve come to terms with that fact. As a reasonably intelligent adult, I’ve come to terms with that fact. If you can’t come to terms with that fact, sorry, there’s nothing I can do for you.

Only people with magic wands can wear tall hats

The Church of England yesterday voted no to women bishops, thus denying the institution a way into the 21st Century.

Still, at least they're prepared to consider it. Unlike the Catholic Church where the16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries failed to make much impact.

Humanist Bastards

The American Humanist Associations irks Ken 'The Lie' Ham because they dare to suggest that you don't need to believe in invisible sky fairies in order to be a good person. No, in order to be a good person, you have to believe that an ancient book of myths and fantasy stories is the only thing in the world you can trust.

Here are is a simple guide from the AHA for living a good life

Be nice
Care for the world around us
Think for myself
Think about how other people feel
Tell the truth
Help others
Take good care of myself

Bastards. How can anybody be good by being nice? God isn't nice, kids should be good by being 'nice' like him.

Here is how I imagine Ken 'The Lie' Ham's guide to living a good life might look

Be nice, but only to Christians. And only to those Christians who think the world is 6000 years old. Everyone who does not believe this is a sinner. Why should you be nice to them? They're damned anyway.

He made it, it's God's world. Do what you want with it, he'll clear up the mess.

Think what we tell you to think. Or rather, what we tell you God wants you to think. Thinking for yourself makes you believe in millions of years, and that man is made of molecules, just like every other living thing.

Tell lies, but ram home that the lies your telling are actually truth, because we've got an ancient book of myth that tells us what the truth is.

Help Answers in Genesis build a replica of a big boat, just like Noah's. Only $10 for a wooden peg.

Take good care of yourself. But let us take care of your brain. We'll control it for you, tell what to think (except it's not really what those bastard Humanists would call thinking).

Remember, people of America, the Humanists want your children to be good people. Ken 'The Lie' Ham just wants your children.

New to blogging

New to this, so bear with me as I stumble and stall to start with.

As an 'intolerant' atheist, I have been banned from commenting on certain evangelical Christian blogs. Not because I use bad language (which I occasionally do when particularly angry), or because I make personal attacks (ditto), but because I take their ideas and apply them to the real world. The one thing these people hate is when you try to force them to face reality - it really challenges and scares them.

So from now on, this blog is going to attack stupidity and bigotry. My main targets will be Answers in Genesis, and Stephen Green's Christian Voice. The first because they promote ignorance and misinformation, the second because they are hate-fuelled bigots. Both base their attacks on reason and reality on an ancient book of myth and reality called The Bible.
